Cigar and Liquor Pairings

Cigar enthusiasts will tell you pairing a fine cigar with the perfect libation can be a heavenly experience. The key is not to let one overwhelm the other. Some liquors pair well with cigars, others don't. For instance, most white spirits like vodka and gin, don't really marry well with cigars. Why? Because cigars will overpower the drink. However, tequila and cigars mix well. So do the classic pairings of cognac, single malt whiskey, bourbon, rum, rye, and port. Some red wines and beers blend perfectly with cigars. Others, not so much.

It's important to match the body of the cigar with the body of the liquor. Pairing cigars with wines and spirits is just one part of the balance. Ultimately, what tastes best to you is what will work and what won't. As always, if you need a recommendation, one of our wait staff will be glad to help.
